The Consumer Affairs Agency (CAA) of Japan has proposed revisions to Japan's maximum residue levels (MRLs) for eight agricultural chemicals (Afidopyropen, Chlorantraniliprole, Ferimzone, Glufosinate, Mepiquat Chloride, Pentoxazone, Carbaryl, and Dinitolmide ) for various agricultural commodities. By January 13, 2026, interested U.S. parties should submit their comments to
[email protected] for plant products,
[email protected] for animal products, and
[email protected] for processed products. The CAA will also notify these proposed revisions to the World Trade Organization. In addition, the CAA is considering removing the MRLs for 21 agricultural chemicals for which no actual usage has been confirmed within Japan. By January 13th, interested U.S. parties who wish to maintain the MRLs for any of these pesticides in Japan, should submit their responses to
