Atlanta Fed Announces Vice President and Senior Economist in Research

For immediate release: December 22, 2025

Brent Meyer has been promoted to vice president and senior economist for the Federal Reserve Bank of Atlanta's Research Division, effective December 16.

In this role, Meyer will continue to provide strategic leadership for the Economic Survey Research Center, expand his leadership role on the Sixth District's monetary policy advising team, and set the strategic direction for the Research Division as a member of the divisional leadership team.

Meyer's career at the Federal Reserve began as a research associate at the Cleveland Fed in 2006. Over the years, he has held various roles including economic analyst, senior economic analyst, and economist. He joined the Atlanta Fed as an economist in 2013, where he has since held various policy adviser roles, culminating in his most recent promotion in 2021.

He holds a bachelor's degree in economics from Hillsdale College in Michigan and a master's degree in economics from Bowling Green State University in Ohio.
