INDIVIDUALS INVOLVED:
INCIDENT SUMMARY: According to Sheriff Jeffrey J. Murphy, the Washington County Sheriff's Office is investigating a fatal motor vehicle accident that occurred on Friday, April 26, 2025, at 1:02 PM on State Route 4 in the Town of Kingsbury.
A preliminary investigation has determined that a 2016 GMC Sierra, operated by Rhonda A. Sexton, age 50, of Deweys Bridge Road in Fort Ann, New York, crossed over into the oncoming lane and struck a 2018 Nissan Rogue operated by Keri L. Pike, age 48, of Castle Road in South Glens Falls.
Sexton was transported to Glens Falls Hospital with non-life-threatening injuries. Pike was also transported to Glens Falls Hospital, where she died as a result of injuries sustained in the accident.
State Route 4 between Kingsbury Road and Rock City Road was closed for several hours while the accident was investigated.
The incident remains under investigation as Sheriff's Investigators continue to look into all aspects of the accident.
Agencies assisting at the scene included Fort Edward EMS, Fort Ann EMS, the Argyle, Bay Ridge, Fort Ann, and Kingsbury Fire Companies, the Washington County Department of Public Safety, and the New York State Police.
