For anyone contemplating starting a small business, the thought alone can be daunting. However, advice and assistance are available.
Kyle Trumble will lead a Wyoming Small Business Development Center (SBDC) Network workshop titled "From Idea to Compelling Business Model - Jackson" Thursday, May 7, from 5-6:30 p.m. in the Ordway Auditorium at the Teton County Library, located at 125 Virginian Lane in Jackson. To register, go here. Registration is free.
The Wyoming SBDC Network offers business expertise to help Wyoming residents think about, launch, grow, reinvent or exit their business. The Wyoming SBDC Network is hosted by the University of Wyoming with state funds from the Wyoming Business Council and funded, in part, through a cooperative agreement with the U.S. Small Business Administration.
The workshop will help attendees discover how to take the next step in their business adventures. During the session, attendees will be introduced to the Business Model Canvas framework, a tool designed to help entrepreneurs create a clear picture of their concept so that they are able to convey their business ideas to others.
Topics that will be covered include feasibility, desirability, viability, customer segments, channels and key resources. After this active workshop, participants will leave with a first draft of their business models; the confidence to refine and create new business models; and an increased awareness of resources available to entrepreneurs through the Wyoming SBDC Network.
Trumble is a regional director (Fremont and Teton counties) for the Wyoming SBDC Network.
