Chinese Consul General in Bandar Abbas Xu Wei Attends Bandar Abbas Municipal Government Nowruz Reception

On April 21, 2025, Consul General Xu Wei attended the Nowruz Reception hosted by the Bandar Abbas Municipal Government upon invitation. Mayor of Bandar Abbas Mehdi Nobani, Chairman of the Islamic City Council of Bandar Abbas Issa Abbasi, Representative of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Iran in Hormozgan Province Reza Arbab Sadeghi and representatives from Indian and Kazakhstani consular agencies in Bandar Abbas were present.

Consul General Xu thanked the Iranian side for its support to the Chinese Consulate General. Xu said, China attaches great importance to cooperation with Iran, and stands ready to deepen subnational friendly exchanges to elevate the bilateral relationship to new heights. As the China Year of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, the year 2025 will see China effectively fulfill the role as the rotating chair and work with all member states to forge a closer SCO community.

Consul General Xu also introduced Chinese government's position on opposing U.S. abuse of tariffs.
