The Key West Police Department is pleased to welcome our newest K-9 Officer Drax, who is working with handler K9 Officer Tommy Anglin.
Drax is a four-year-old German Shepherd who was born and raised in Germany. He shares the same bloodline as Officer. Anglin's first K-9, Ferro, and his last K-9, Jigsaw.
Drax competed in Europe for over two years and holds top titles in protection, tracking, and sport, which he earned under the original name of X-Maxx.
According to Officer Anglin, Drax is smart, social, sweet, and hard working.
He was generously paid for by the Ahrensfeld family, who also bought the late K9 Jigsaw for the Department. Canine Extreme GSD imported Drax.
"We are extremely grateful to the Ahrensfeld family," said Chief Sean Brandenburg. "Our K9 Unit is a vital part of the community, and we are honored to have Drax join us in protecting our community."
