AUC Chairperson briefed on the implementation of AUSSOM's mandate & recent dev

H.E. Ambassador El Hadji Ibrahima Diene, Special Representative of the Chairperson of the AU Commission for Somalia & Head of @AUSSOM, briefed the Chairperson of the AU Commission, H.E. Mahmoud Ali Youssouf, on the implementation of AUSSOM's mandate & recent developments on the ground.

The Chairperson commended AUSSOM for its continued contribution to peace, security & stabilisation in #Somalia, noting the Mission's close collaboration with the Federal Government of Somalia & the Troop Contributing Countries in protecting civilians, advancing stabilisation efforts, strengthening state institutions, & supporting the gradual, conditions-based transfer of security responsibilities to the Somali Security Forces.

He paid tribute to the courage, professionalism & sacrifice of the women & men of AUSSOM, reaffirming the AU's commitment to supporting Somalia's journey towards sustainable peace, stability & self-reliance.
