In the News: Chris Fornataro Named ENR East Top Young Professional

Vice President of Power Delivery Engineering Chris Fornataro, PE, has been recognized by Engineering News-Record (ENR) as one of its 2027 ENR East Top Young Professionals. Selected from more than 140 nominees, Fornataro is among 25 emerging leaders recognized for their career achievements, industry leadership, and community contributions. As a regional honoree, Fornataro will also be considered for a national ENR Top Young Professional award.

With 16 years of experience, Fornataro leads a 200-person engineering team delivering transmission line, substation, civil, and structural engineering solutions for customers nationwide. His technical expertise and leadership have helped expand GFT's power delivery capabilities, strengthen client relationships, and advance critical infrastructure that supports electric grid reliability and resilience.

Beyond project delivery, Fornataro is committed to developing the next generation of engineers through mentorship, technical training, and industry knowledge sharing. He has mentored more than 20 engineers and project managers while contributing to industry research and presentations focused on transmission infrastructure and grid resilience.
