Mayor-President Announces Cleanup Efforts to Kick Off Love the Boot Week

BATON ROUGE, LA - March 27, 2025 - The Office of Mayor-President Sid Edwards is proud to announce the Community Beautification and Cleanup Day on Saturday, April 5, 2025, as part of Louisiana's annual Love the Boot Week - the state's largest litter removal initiative. This weeklong effort unites individuals, businesses, schools, and organizations across all 64 parishes to take action in caring for their communities.

In support of this initiative, the City of Baton Rouge and East Baton Rouge Parish will host dedicated cleanup events, beginning with City-Parish Employees Cleanup Day on Friday, April 4, 2025. City-Parish employees will take the lead in setting an example of community service by participating in targeted cleanup projects across designated sites. Participation is voluntary, and those not taking part will continue with their regular work schedules.

The highlight of the initiative, Community Beautification and Cleanup Day, will take place on Saturday, April 5, 2025, at 9:00 a.m. The Mayor-President's Office invites all residents, businesses, and community organizations to join in a parish-wide effort to enhance the beauty of East Baton Rouge Parish. Volunteers will engage in a variety of projects at selected locations.

"This initiative is about more than just cleaning up litter - it's about fostering pride in our community and working together to create a cleaner, healthier Baton Rouge," said Mayor-President Sid Edwards. "I encourage everyone to roll up their sleeves and be a part of this meaningful effort."
