The Connecticut Department of Transportation (CTDOT) is announcing Eversource power line installations requiring the closure of Murdock Avenue over I-91, on Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. with additional intermittent traffic stoppages on I-91 from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m.
The project 0079-0246 consists of interchange improvements to I-91 Southbound, I-691 Eastbound, and Route 15 Southbound and includes replacement of the Murdock Avenue bridge over I-91.
CTDOT Project No. 0079-0240 was awarded to O&G Industries at a cost of $262,642,583.27 on March 5, 2026, and is scheduled to be completed in November 2030. This project is administered by the Bureau of Engineering and Construction, Office of Construction, District 1 in Rocky Hill, CT.

Murdock Avenue over I-91 will be closed, on Wednesday, May 20 and Thursday, May 21, 2026, from 9:00 p.m. to 5:00 a.m. There will also be intermittent traffic stoppages on I-91, for safety, not to exceed 15 minutes each, from 12:00 a.m. to 5:00 a.m. Traffic should seek alternate routes or follow the posted detour.
Motorists should be aware that modifications or extensions to this schedule may become necessary due to weather delays or other unforeseen conditions. Motorists are advised to maintain a safe speed when driving in this area.
