JOLIET, IL - The City of Joliet invites the community to celebrate Black History Month with "STAMPED INTO HISTORY!," a free, three-day theatre series highlighting the historical and cultural contributions of African Americans. Presented February 20-22, 2026 at the Billie Limacher Bicentennial Park Theatre (201 W. Jefferson St.), the series features theatre, music, storytelling, dance and inspirational programming designed for audiences of all ages and backgrounds.

Created by local producer Larry Crawford of LWCLeads, "STAMPED INTO HISTORY!" uses U.S. postage stamps honoring notable African Americans as a creative lens to explore Black history, artistry and achievement. The production returns to Bicentennial Park Theatre for a fourth consecutive year, following eight years of performances across the region, including appearances at St. Francis University and Lewis University.

"Our intent with this series is to demonstrate the many forms that Black excellence takes and has taken throughout history." Said Crawford. "These programs are designed to celebrate that legacy while looking to the future with hope. We're thankful to have the opportunity to bring this production back several years in a row, and we believe that's a testament to the quality of the show."

"Black History Month is an opportunity for reflection, celebration and connection and we're proud to provide the Bicentennial Park Theatre to serve as a conduit for telling these stories," said Ann Sylvester, Director of the Department of Cultural Affairs & Special Events for the City of Joliet. "By supporting culturally focused performances like 'STAMPED INTO HISTORY!,' the City is helping ensure that Black history, creativity and lived experiences are given the honor that they are due."

The three-day lineup includes:
