With a severe Santa Ana windstorm continuing throughout Southern California, the City is reminding residents to take precautions and sign up for AlertOC, a mass notification system designed to keep the public informed of emergencies.
During these high wind periods and Red Flag warnings, residents should reduce any activities that can produce sparks. Learn more and view OC Fire Watch sites at https://bit.ly/FirewatchSites.
California utilities warn that gusts can cause power lines to fall. Even if a power line has fallen, it can still carry an electric charge, and people are advised to stay away.
