Chinese Ambassador to Barbados Zheng Bingkai Meets with Prime Minister of Barbados

On September 17, 2025, Ambassador Zheng Bingkai paid a courtesy call on the Hon. Mia Amor Mottley, Prime Minister of Barbados.

Ambassador Zheng first conveyed the cordial greetings from Chinese President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang to Prime Minister Mottley and stated that since the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and Barbados, the bilateral relations have developed steadily, with political mutual trust deepening, practical cooperation yielding fruitful results, and people-to-people ties closer. As the new Chinese Ambassador to Barbados, he looks forward to strengthening cooperation with the Barbadian side, implementing the important consensus reached by the leaders of the two countries, and promoting China-Barbados relations to new heights.

Prime Minister Mottley asked Ambassador Zheng to convey his greetings to President Xi Jinping and Premier Li Qiang, warmly welcomed Ambassador Zheng's assumption of office, spoke highly of Barbados-China relations, and thanked China for its long-term and valuable support for Barbados' economic and social development. Prime Minister Mottley expressed her willingness to work with China to deepen cooperation in various fields, thus delivering more benefits to the two peoples. 

The two sides also exchanged views on issues of mutual concern.
