Temporary Pass Closures
Sonora Pass (State Route 108) | Ebbetts Pass (State Route 4) | Monitor Pass (State Route 89)

Tuolumne County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have a temporary road closure in place tomorrow on State Route 108 East (Sonora Pass) due to incoming storm conditions. The eastbound closure will be set at Kennedy Meadows, and the westbound closure will be at the Marine Corps Training Center. The temporary closure is scheduled to begin Friday, October 24, at 12:00 p.m. extending through early next week when Caltrans Long Barn and Sonora Junction maintenance crews will reassess the road conditions for the safety of the traveling public.

Calaveras-Alpine Counties - The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have a temporary road closure in place tomorrow on State Route 4 (Ebbetts Pass) due to incoming storm conditions. The eastbound closure will be set at Lake Alpine, and the westbound closure will be set at the Raymond Meadows closure gate. The temporary closure is scheduled to begin Friday, October 24, at 12:00 p.m. extending through early next week when Caltrans Camp Connell and Woodfords maintenance crews will reassess the road conditions for the safety of the traveling public.

Alpine County- The California Department of Transportation (Caltrans) will have a temporary closure in place tomorrow on State Route 89 (Monitor Pass) due to incoming storm conditions. The eastbound closure will be set at the State Route 4/89 junction beginning Friday, October 24, at 1:00 p.m. extending through early next week when our Caltrans Woodfords maintenance crew will reassess the road conditions for the safety of the traveling public.

For the latest road condition information, tune your radio to the Caltrans Highway Advisory Radio (HAR) at 530 AM, 1610 AM or 1670 AM, or call the Caltrans Road Condition Hotline at 1-800-427-ROAD (7623). Changeable Message Signs (CMS) will display information regarding the pass closures for motorists.

Motorists should expect 5-to-10-minute delays and use alternate routes whenever possible. All work is scheduled to occur as listed but is subject to change due to traffic incidents, weather, availability of equipment/materials, and construction-related issues.
