New Year’s Eve DUI Emphasis Patrol Leads to Arrests, Dozens of Citations, Recovered Drugs

The Seattle Police Department made several arrests and issued dozens of citations during a high-visibility New Year's Eve DUI emphasis patrol.

During the operation on Dec. 31, officers contacted 62 drivers resulting in 35 citations and six DUI arrests. Three of the people arrested had at least one prior DUI. One of the drivers had four prior DUIs.

DUI officers also made three other arrests, recovering a stolen vehicle, 38 grams of cocaine and 180 pills including fentanyl, oxycodone, hydrocodone, clonazepam, and tramadol, as well as other drugs.

SPD is planning additional high-visibility emphasis patrols.
