LEWISTON WELCOMES NEW PARKS & RECREATION DIRECTOR

The City of Lewiston is pleased to announce Justin Glenn as the new Parks and Recreation Director.

Justin brings a wealth of experience in parks and recreation management, most recently having served as the Deputy Director of the largest military parks and recreation program in the Department of Defense at Fort Bragg, North Carolina. In this role, he oversaw five divisions, managed a team of more than 1,200 employees, and maintained 84 front-door operations with an annual operating budget exceeding $50 million, supporting a community of 240,000.

Justin's impressive career in parks and recreation spans over 20 years, with leadership roles in community recreation, facility management, large-scale event planning, and capital improvement projects. His expertise includes budget development, program expansion, stakeholder engagement, and creating innovative recreation opportunities that enhance quality of life.

"I am thrilled to join the City of Lewiston and look forward to working with the community to continue enhancing parks, recreational programs, and facilities," said Glenn. "My goal is to create inclusive, innovative, and sustainable recreation opportunities that enrich the lives of Lewiston residents."

Justin's leadership has led to numerous accomplishments, including:

  • Securing $2.2 million in capital improvement projects to modernize recreation facilities
  • Implementing strategic initiatives to improve outdoor recreation, athletic complexes, and community events
  • Enhancing operational efficiencies that improved profitability and accessibility for recreational programs
  • Developing partnerships with local organizations, universities, and government agencies to expand programming

Glenn holds a Bachelor's Degree in Physical Education from Wayland Baptist University and is a Certified Parks and Recreation Professional (CPRP) through the National Recreation and Parks Association.

As he steps into his new role, Glenn will oversee Lewiston's parks, facilities, recreation programs, and community events, ensuring we continue to serve our residents and visitors with excellence. His first day on the job will be June 16, 2025.
