Minister of Foreign Affairs of Belarus M.Ryzhenkov holds telephone conversation with Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of UAE

On March 5, 2026, acting on instructions from the Head of the Belarusian State, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of the Republic of Belarus Maxim Ryzhenkov held a telephone conversation with the Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation of the UAE, His Highness Sheikh Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan, to discuss the situation in the Middle East.

The Head of the Belarusian Foreign Ministry expressed words of support and solidarity to the leadership and people of the United Arab Emirates in light of the destruction and losses suffered as a result of the Middle East conflict.

The Belarusian side expressed grave concern over attempts to expand the conflict to the UAE - a reliable partner and friend of the Belarusian people - as well as reports of civilian casualties and damage. The negative consequences of the conflict for the regional and global economy were also emphasized.

The interlocutors noted the vital importance of immediately seeking a long-term resolution to the conflict exclusively through diplomatic means in order to restore regional stability and security.

Maxim Ryzhenkov noted that the Republic of Belarus, through its contacts with the parties involved, is advocating for the cessation of hostilities and a return to the negotiating table.

Belarus's readiness to join more significant steps and initiatives aimed at achieving peace was underscored.

Special gratitude was expressed to the Emirati side for their care for Belarusian citizens compelled to remain in the UAE due to the conflict, and for the assistance provided in their return to the Republic of Belarus.

His Highness Abdullah bin Zayed Al Nahyan expressed his gratitude personally to the Head of the Belarusian State and the Belarusian side for their support and efforts toward de-escalating the conflict.

The UAE Foreign Minister also briefed his Belarusian colleague on the evolving situation in the region.

The head of the Emirati Ministry of Foreign Affairs assured that the UAE would continue to provide assistance to Belarusian citizens. Readiness to strengthen coordination with Belarusian diplomatic missions in the UAE to resolve related issues was also highlighted.
