Startup supporter Embarc Collective has added a preferred commercial banking partner and shared services partner.

Orlando-based Cogent Bank will connect with Embarc Collective member companies through quarterly partner meetings and workshops, dedicated office hours and advisory sessions. The goal is to connect startups with experienced advisers, strengthen business operations, reduce complexity and scale with confidence, according to Embarc.

Early-stage technology companies can access banking, accounting, tax, legal, cybersecurity and other providers through Embarc's shared services partner program.

"Building a high-growth company requires far more than a great product; it requires the right financial, legal and operational foundation," said Tim Holcomb, CEO of Embarc Collective.

As part of the partnership, Cogent Bank will:

  • Host quarterly educational workshops covering topics including cash flow management, banking best practices, debt versus equity financing and capital strategy
  • Offer founder office hours and one-on-one advisory sessions with experienced commercial banking professionals
  • Participate in founder onboarding, networking events and strategic introductions
  • Serve as a program sponsor supporting Embarc's venture-focused programming and founder events

"As a Florida-based community bank, we're excited to partner with Embarc Collective to help support the next generation of innovative companies being built in our state," said Barbara Negron, senior VP and managing director of the bank's embedded finance and partnerships division. "Early-stage founders face unique financial decisions that can shape the trajectory of their businesses. We look forward to sharing our expertise, building lasting relationships and helping entrepreneurs establish the financial infrastructure needed to scale successfully."

Founders will also have access to business banking, treasury management, commercial lending products, SBA lending and advisers.
