SEATTLE, May 18, 2026 - Expedia Group is bringing Expedia Group Advertising (EGA), its media business, into the company's global marketing organization under Chief Marketing Officer Jochen Koedijk, to better unlock data, scale and performance.

The move reflects a bigger bet on advertising as a core growth engine for Expedia Group. By unifying media buying and selling, brand investment, loyalty, and first-party data under a single function, the company aims to build one of the most differentiated commerce media offerings in the industry.

The emphasis comes as Expedia Group's advertising business continues to scale, with nearly 20% year-over-year growth and expanding advertiser participation, underscoring its role as one of the company's fastest-growing platform businesses.

"Travel advertising is being reshaped by data, technology, and partner expectations," said Jochen Koedijk, Chief Marketing Officer. "Bringing EGA into Marketing lets us combine one of the largest media operations in travel with one of the most engaged audiences and apply that combination directly to what our partners need."

By integrating advertising into Marketing, Expedia Group aims to create a more unified and measurable system that links brand-building, performance marketing and media. The goal is to drive stronger outcomes for advertising partners while capturing more value from Expedia Group's global traveler audience.

The shift also reflects how quickly travel advertising is evolving into a more data-driven, technology-led marketplace. The integration brings EGA into closer alignment with the teams managing Expedia Group's large-scale marketing investment and loyalty program, expanding the capabilities available to advertisers.
