Due to legislative changes, the U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the Northern District is realigning its divisions effective October 1, 2025. The Northern Division will include Marshall County. The Western Division will include all of Winston County.

The Court's four divisions are as follows:

  • Eastern Division: Calhoun, Cherokee, Clay, Cleburne, DeKalb, Etowah, St. Clair, and Talladega Counties. Its office is in Anniston, Alabama.
  • Northern Division: Colbert, Cullman, Franklin, Jackson, Lauderdale, Limestone, Madison, Marshall, and Morgan Counties. Its office is in Huntsville, Alabama and hearings will be held in Huntsville and Florence.
  • Southern Division: Blount, Jefferson, and Shelby Counties. Its office is in Birmingham, Alabama.
  • Western Division: Bibb, Fayette, Greene, Lamar, Marion, Pickens, Sumter, Tuscaloosa, Walker, and Winston Counties. Its office is in Tuscaloosa, Alabama.
