This spring, the Venture College Incubator kicks off a new chapter by hosting its first cohort in its new location at The Junction where alumni Corbin "Corey" Hennen will lead fellow founders as the program's first Entrepreneur in Residence.
As part of the College of Innovation and Design, the Venture College Incubator program is an intensive, 10-week course designed to help aspiring entrepreneurs test their business ideas, gather real-world feedback, and launch their ventures.
"Venture College is all about creating a supportive community space where founders can easily access the resources they need," said Cara Van Sant, director of Venture College. "Our new location in The Junction places students in the heart of Idaho's entrepreneurial ecosystem by creating meaningful connections with industry mentors and offering a professional space and launching pad for their ventures to take shape."
A Boise State graduate and former incubator participant, Hennen is the Co-Founder of Lumineye, a long-time Venture College mentor, Idaho Entrepreneur Challenge winner and Y Combinator alum.
"Being part of the incubator helped teach me how to communicate to a variety of audiences from potential customers to technical experts and investors," Hennen said. "It was also a great place to meet like-minded entrepreneurs who were working hard to make their dreams a reality."
Ten years later, Hennen will support the instructor team as a teaching assistant and in-house mentor. "Coming full circle as an Entrepreneur in Residence, I thought it would be cool to lead by example by taking my new venture Huginn (AGI in a shipping container) through the Incubator," Hennen said. "I've often found having a fellow founder as a pace setter can be quite helpful and I am excited to provide this support to this next wave of rising entrepreneurs in the spring cohort."
The spring 2026 cohort will take place Jan. 27 through April 7, 2026, with sessions held Tuesdays and Thursdays on campus. In-person attendance is encouraged, though a Zoom option is available for those who need it. The program is free and open to students from any academic discipline. Community members from all industries are also encouraged to apply.
Learn more or apply through 11:59 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21. Limited seats are available.
