Washington, D.C. - Another week of RFK Jr.'s reign, another week of bad acts that will harm the American people. Senators Ron Wyden, D-Ore., and Angela Alsobrooks, D-Md., will continue to release updated actions taken by RFK Jr. and add these acts to their joint report.
"Every day Americans are waking up to more headlines about Robert Kennedy using their taxpayer dollars at HHS to prop up his anti-science crusade. It's way past time for Robert Kennedy to step down, or Trump must fire him. We will not stop calling attention to the chaos, corruption and costs Robert Kennedy is inflicting on American families," Wyden said.
"It's funny that RFK Jr. is so determined to rid the Department of Health and Human Services from corruption and fraud. He needs to look no further than himself. For the last 214 days, RFK has cost the American people money and their health, led with chaos and division, and has continued to pursue this Administration's corrupt agenda. RFK Jr. needs to resign or be fired. We won't stop building the case until he does," Alsobrooks said.
Chaos, Corruption, and Costs Continues: Kennedy's Weekly Failings
Below are Kennedy's latest harmful actions (from September 5 - September 16, 2025):
One of Kennedy's allies, Dr. Marty Makary, sowed fear and doubt in the COVID vaccines by suggesting that the Biden Administration covered up COVID vaccine deaths. Operation Warp Speed, which Trump spearheaded, marshalled public and private resources to produce the COVID vaccine in record time, save millions of lives, and help enable a return to normalcy for millions of Americans.
Kennedy appointed five new members to the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention's Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices (ACIP), including multiple vaccine skeptics and individuals who lack expertise in vaccines. This announcement came just days before the September ACIP meeting.
Democrats continue to sound the alarm about the affordability crisis on the horizon for the more than 20 million Americans enrolled in the Affordable Care Act (ACA) Marketplaces, while Kennedy and Republicans shut the door on an urgently needed solution to stop catastrophic premium spikes for working families. Trumpcare gives tax handouts to the ultra-wealthy and billionaires paid for with the largest health care cuts in history; this Republican tax bill left millions of Americans with ACA coverage behind.
Americans are reporting needless challenges as they try to get an updated COVID vaccine because of recent federal changes implemented under Kennedy. There have been reports of significant confusion for patients and health care providers alike, thousands of appointment cancellations at pharmacies, and individuals going to extremes to secure their shots, including traveling to another state.
Kennedy released his Make America Healthy Again Commission report. The report contains harmful rhetoric about fluoridation, again directing the CDC to change its recommendations on fluoride, and suggests Kennedy intends to use HHS resources to sow misinformation about the "root causes" of autism. This indicates Kennedy fully intends to press ahead with his dangerous agenda to further undermine vaccine access for children and their families.
Under Kennedy's leadership, public health experts sounded the alarm about the CDC's gutting of the Foodborne Disease Active Surveillance Network which is the nation's food-borne illness monitoring system.
Under Kennedy's leadership, the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention announced that it will award a sole source contract to an anti-vax researcher at Rensselaer Polytechnic Institute for Investigation of the Association between Vaccinations and Autism Prevalence. This is Kennedy's latest effort to attempt to link vaccines to autism.
The Wall Street Journal reported that Kennedy plans to link pregnant women's use of Tylenol to autism in his forthcoming report on autism that HHS will publish this month, despite research refuting any causal link between the two. Pushing this misleading and debunked theory will cause immense harm to parents across the country.
Augusta Medical Group announced the closure of three practice locations in Virginia caused by Republicans' largest Medicaid cuts in history. A week later, Kennedy opened up applications for Trumpcare's rural health slush fund, overselling what this paltry fund can accomplish as communities stare down more than $1 trillion in health care cuts. While Kennedy continues to pretend his slush fund will save rural health care, hospitals across the country are announcing closures, service line reductions, and layoffs.
