Official reception dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the formation of Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia

On February 5 The Embassy of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia organized an official reception at the Sheraton Metekhi Hotel in Tbilisi dedicated to the 34th anniversary of the establishment of the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia. Among the attendees were First Vice Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Giorgi Volski, Deputy Minister of Defense Grigol Giorgadze, senior military officers, members of parliament, heads of diplomatic missions accredited in Georgia and defense attachés, as well as representatives of the Armenian community of Georgia.

Welcoming the guests, Ambassador of the Republic of Armenia Ashot Smbatyan emphasized that the day is not only a celebration, but also another opportunity to recognize the role of the army in ensuring the country's security and the formation of an independent statehood. He stressed that the Armed Forces of the Republic of Armenia were formed during a historically difficult period, yet have consistently fulfilled their role as the guarantor of Armenia's independence, sovereignty, and territorial integrity. The Ambassador paid tribute to all the heroes who were martyred for the homeland.

Deputy Minister of Defense of Georgia Grigol Giorgadze delivered congratulatory remarks and spoke about the close cooperation established between the defense institutions of Georgia and Armenia.

Addressing the audience, the Defense Attaché of the Republic of Armenia in Georgia, Colonel Mikayel Julhakyan, spoke about the reforms underway in the army aimed at enhancing combat readiness, professionalism, the level of education, and improving the social conditions of servicemen. He expressed gratitude to the guests, emphasizing the importance of joint efforts directed toward a safe and stable future.
