WFBF Statement on Executive Order to Delist the Gray Wolf from the Endangered Species Act

Wisconsin Farm Bureau Federation President Brad Olson released the following statement today following President Trump's Executive Order pertaining to the delisting of the gray wolf on Friday.

"Friday's Executive Order is a positive first step towards delisting the gray wolf from the Endangered Species Act (ESA). Gray wolves are one of the greatest success stories under the ESA. Their recovery is well documented by decades of scientific data, and it is time for state wildlife professionals to manage the recovered population.

Delisting the gray wolf is not about erasing conservation gains; it's about restoring balance that Wisconsin's rural residents so desperately need. Wisconsin Farm Bureau looks forward to reviewing the Department of the Interior's legislative recommendations."
