SE 7th Street Asphalt Improvement Project

The City of Fort Lauderdale is working with FG Construction to resurface SE 7th Street between S. Andrews Avenue and SE 1st Avenue in Downtown Fort Lauderdale. This project includes:

• Milling and resurfacing asphalt
• Applying new pavement markings

Construction will take place on Thursday, January 22, 2026. Work will take place overnight between 8 p.m. and 6 a.m. This schedule is subject to change based on inclement weather or other unforeseen circumstances.

Traffic Impacts

• SE 7th Street between S. Andrews Avenue and SE 1st Avenue will be closed overnight during work hours.
• Traffic will be detoured to SE 6th Street, SE 1st Avenue, SE 7th Street, SE 2nd Avenue and SE 8th Street.
• Traffic control personnel will direct traffic as needed.
• Access to driveways will be maintained unless work is taking place in the immediate area across from the driveway. Crews will attempt to coordinate with neighbors prior to the start of asphalt operations that will impact driveway access.
• Final pavement markings will be applied approximately 30 days after resurfacing is completed and will require temporary, intermittent lane closures.
• Please follow posted signs and drive with caution in the area.
