U.S. Route 61 in Cape Girardeau County Closed for Bridge Replacement
SIKESTON-Route 61 in Cape Girardeau County will be closed as construction crews replace the bridge over Erlinde Creek.
This section of roadway is located between County Road 506 and Achillea Lane.
Weather permitting, work is scheduled to begin Wednesday, Oct. 14 at 7 a.m. with completion anticipated Tuesday, Dec. 1. While work is underway, this section of roadway will remain closed.
The work zone will be marked with signs. Motorists are urged to use extreme caution while traveling near the area.
