Historical Marker Unveiling to Honor Legacy of Pocomoke Tribal Homelands

WHAT:

The Maryland Department of Transportation, in partnership with the Pocomoke Indian Nation, will unveil a Maryland Roadside Historical Marker to highlight and acknowledge the Pocomoke Tribal Homelands during American Indian Heritage Month.

Worcester County Visitor Center, Rt-13, Pocomoke City, MD

WHY:

The ceremony will celebrate the enduring culture and history of the Pocomoke Indian Nation by recognizing their homelands in a historical marker. The event will feature remarks from tribal and government representatives and celebrate American Indian Heritage Month.
