U.S. Fleet Forces, NSWC Corona demo advanced LVC fleet training capabilities

Personnel from Naval Surface Warfare Center (NSWC) Corona Division, in coordination with U.S. Fleet Forces Command (USFFC), hosted Chief of Naval Operations (CNO) Adm. Daryl Caudle for a high-level capability demonstration at the Hefti Global Live, Virtual, and Constructive (LVC) Operations Center in Dam Neck, Virginia, Aug. 27.

The visit highlighted ongoing efforts to enhance synthetic and blended training architectures, connecting Sailors across ships and shore-based facilities to hone critical warfighting functions in tailored, high-stakes operational scenarios.

During the demonstration, leadership observed the integration of new capabilities into the Navy's existing surface and air LVC training environments-marking a significant leap forward in multi-domain fleet training and operational readiness.

"Our driving mission is to equip our forces with the highest fidelity training environment possible, ensuring that every critical action needed to win decisively in combat is fully mastered during fleet exercises," said Kevin Altemara, USFFC virtual training program manager. "This breakthrough capability paves the way for significantly more complex, realistic training opportunities across the Fleet, representing the exceptional collaborative work of NSWC Corona and the Naval Information Warfare Development Center."

By integrating various LVC tools, software programs and systems, LVC training provides the fleet with a common operational picture, allowing America's warfighters to train like they fight.

"I'm extremely proud of the collaborative team effort of our engineers and contractors," said Sean Anderson, NSWC Corona's LVC Director. "The new capabilities demonstrated to the CNO dramatically enhance the Navy's multi-domain LVC training."

The event builds upon previous synthetic training demonstrations conducted for U.S. Fleet Forces Command and U.S. Pacific Fleet, reinforcing the Navy's commitment to advancing secure, realistic, and distributed combat training across all warfighting domains.
