Robust medical benefits
Most full-time employees get medical coverage, regardless of their level or position within the company, starting on the first day of the job-there's no waiting period before they kick in. Depending on number of hours worked, part-time and seasonal employees may also qualify for medical insurance after 90 days.
In addition, Amazon rounds out this kind of traditional medical care with additional ways to access care. For example, employees get access to virtual orthopedic pain-prevention resources, which offer self-care exercises you can access via a mobile app. Others enrolled in specific medical plans can access virtual doula support during their pregnancy.
Mental health resources
Amazon's broad selection of mental health benefits are available to all employees, their families, and anyone else living in their household from birth through all life stages. This includes access to 24/7 support for any mental health question or concern via Resources for Living, Amazon's Employee Assistance Program (EAP) for US-based employees.
This baseline support for all employees and their families includes free counseling (up to 6 sessions per issue per year), free legal and financial advice, and support for any other daily life question or concern that employees need help to overcome.
In addition to the EAP, all Amazon employees, their families and household members over 18 years old have free access to Twill, a self-guided mental health app that offers science-backed tools and resources for building mental health every day, as well as access to free health and wellbeing coaching.

Cancer support
Being diagnosed with cancer can be a life-changing event, and Amazon helps employees through that challenging time. The company has assembled a team called CARES (Amazon Cancer Advocacy, Resources, Education, and Support) that's dedicated solely to helping diagnosed employees navigate the all of the challenges they might face. This includes acquiring care, understanding and taking advantage of benefits, getting treatment, and recovery. Not only does CARES assist with getting treatment, but the team helps employees manage work-related issues and conversations with managers, Amazon leaders, and human resources as well.

Amazon's Expert Medical Opinion (EMO) program provides Amazonians and their covered dependents access to a network of expert medical specialists to review new or existing diagnoses and treatment plans for select complex conditions. It's available at no additional cost for employees enrolled in a qualifying medical plan.
Additionally, Amazon offers free, at-home colorectal cancer screening to US employees and their eligible dependents 45 years of age and older enrolled in qualifying medical plans through Amazon. Using this easy test helps to detect cancer early, when it's most treatable.
Substance use disorder treatment and recovery
Pelago is an online clinic that offers confidential treatment and support for alcohol, tobacco, opioid, and cannabis use. Whether you're thinking about quitting or cutting back, Pelago is here to support you through your journey.
Amazon employees can get 1:1 support through Pelago's online clinic with an expert care team and health goal-tracking tools available through their app. With a virtual support system available 24/7, employees can make progress towards their goals at a time that works best for them.
Pelago is available to Amazon employees and their dependents (15 years of age and older) with Aetna, Cigna, and Premera health plans and is integrated to provide seamless connections to in-network substance use disorder providers.
24/7 access to a medical advice line
All Amazon employees and their families have access to a free 24/7 medical advice line from day one of employment, so they can talk with a nurse whenever and wherever they need medical advice. They don't even have to be enrolled in an Amazon medical plan to use the benefit. The nurses on the Medical Advice Line are able to answer general health questions or guide you to the appropriate level of care (e.g. self-care, virtual care, primary care, urgent care, or Emergency Department).
