Two Harshbarger Bills Advance Through Energy and Commerce Committee

Washington, D.C. - Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger (R-TN) released the following statements after the House Energy and Commerce Committee advanced two of her bills at today's full committee markup. Members passed the Nutrition Education and Chronic Disease Prevention in Community Health Centers Act of 2026 and the Affordable Innovation for the Grid Act , sending both bills to the full House for consideration.

Nutrition Education and Chronic Disease Prevention in Community Health Centers Act of 2026:

"For more than 30 years, I stood behind a pharmacy counter in East Tennessee and watched manageable conditions turn into life-altering ones because nobody caught them early enough," said Congresswoman Diana Harshbarger. "I've always believed that the best prescription is the one you never have to write. The MAHA agenda's focus on prevention, addressing the root causes of disease, and empowering Americans to live healthier lives is the right direction for this country, and that's exactly where this bill will take us. I'm grateful for Secretary Kennedy's leadership on this front, and I'll keep fighting to get this across the finish line."
