The MSc in Global Health and Disaster Medicine at the School of Medicine, in partnership with the University's Cyprus Branch and the Ambulance Services Directorate of the Cyprus State Health Services Organisation, will host a large-scale multi-agency emergency response exercise in Nicosia with support from the University's Research Institute for Humanitarian Medicine and Disaster Management.
The simulation will take place outside Nicosia City Hall (11 Eptanisou St, 1016 Nicosia) on Friday, 5 June 2026, at 15:00.
Based on a realistic field scenario, the exercise will bring together emergency responders to test coordination, communication, and operational procedures during complex situations involving multiple casualties. Participants will follow established emergency response protocols, including triage, pre-hospital treatment, patient transport, and major incident management.
The exercise is intended to strengthen operational preparedness, enhance inter-agency cooperation, and promote effective coordination among academic institutions, healthcare providers, law enforcement authorities, and civil protection organisations. It also aims to support the exchange of expertise and the continued development of best practices in disaster response.
