Why are School Resource Officers (SROs) on campuses in the Hillsboro School District?
Dedicated officers from the City of Hillsboro Police Department help keep our schools safe and supportive for students, parents, teachers, and staff.

Fun Fact: He loves watching cooking shows and honing his culinary skills.
"I think the most meaningful part of this job is we get to do a lot of non-traditional police work. We get to be mentors, we get to be teachers, we get to be coaches, we get to work with our administrators, we get to work with our families. A big part of my role is educating our students and that can be on a variety of topics and a variety of level of kids from kindergarteners all the way up to our seniors in high school."

Fun Fact: He is a huge fan of soccer, and a huge supporter of the Portland Timbers.
"If they ever are in some sort of crisis or some sort of issue, they can reach out to me when it might not be as negative, when talking to a stranger because they already have that relationship with me."

Fun Fact: She once worked as a wildland firefighter!
"I'd like parents to know that our number one job in the schools is to keep kids safe and to make sure their kids have equal opportunity to spend that time in the classroom to get the education that they all need."

Fun Fact: He played and coached Rugby, and he really enjoys board and card games.
"I wanted to become an SRO because I was a high school rugby coach and being able to be there for the kids and mentoring the kids is just a feeling you can't replace."

"Being able to connect with the kids and hopefully change the trajectory of their life and what they're doing. It's fun to see them back in the community after you've been involved in their life and see them successful in doing it."

Fun Fact: Dow is a diehard football fan. His first job was driving tugboats in the Caribbean.

Sgt. Sackville oversees the daily operations and performance of school resource officers, ensuring they maintain safety while building positive relationships with students and staff.
She also coordinates training, evaluates program effectiveness, and serves as a liaison between law enforcement and school administration.
