MEMA ALERT: Extended (Time) - Flood Advisory In Effect For Lana?i Until 1:30 AM HST Friday
MEMA Alert...FLOOD ADVISORY NOW IN EFFECT UNTIL 130 AM HST FRIDAY FOR THE ISLAND OF LANAI IN MAUI COUNTY...
* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall continues.
* WHERE...The island of Lanai in Maui County.
* WHEN...Until 130 AM HST.
* IMPACTS...Minor flooding on roads, poor drainage areas, and in
streams.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS...
- At 1006 PM HST, rainfall has eased over Lanai, but radar
indicated that more rainfall was approaching the island from
the southwest. Rain rates were estimated to be 1 to 2 inches
per hour.
- This advisory includes the entire island of Lanai.
PRECAUTIONARY/PREPAREDNESS ACTIONS...
Stay away from streams, drainage ditches and low lying areas prone
to flooding.
A Flood Watch is also in effect for Maui County through Friday
afternoon.
This advisory may need to be extended beyond 130 AM HST if flooding
persists.
