RALEIGH, N.C- Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund and Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund, and its grassroots networks, Moms Demand Action and Students Demand Action, declared a major victory as voters elected Jeff Jackson as the Attorney General of North Carolina.

"Attorneys General have an essential role to play when it comes to defending gun safety laws and holding bad actors in the gun industry accountable, and Attorney General-elect Jackson has made it clear he's committed to doing both," said John Feinblatt, president of Everytown for Gun Safety. "Everytown is eager to work with Attorney General-elect Jackson to create a future where every North Carolinian is free from the fear of gun violence."

"By electing Congressman Jeff Jackson as Attorney General, we've secured a huge win for advancing the gun violence prevention movement in North Carolina and across the country," said Angela Ferrell-Zabala, executive director of Moms Demand Action. "Attorney General-elect Jackson has always put public safety first, and as a leader on the U.S. House Gun Violence Prevention Task Force, he has championed crucial legislation to keep our communities safe. We look forward to working alongside him to keep building on our momentum."

"Attorney General-elect Jackson has been a proven leader for North Carolinians on the national stage, and now he'll be on the frontlines fighting for the safety of our schools and communities," JaMarah Davis, a volunteer leader with Students Demand Action from North Carolina. "With gun violence the leading cause of death for my generation, we need a leader who will hold the gun industry accountable - and that leader will be Jeff Jackson."

Everytown for Gun Safety Victory Fund partnered with the DAGA People's Lawyer Project, an independent organization backed by the Democratic Attorneys General Association (DAGA), to launch television ads highlighting Dan Bishop's allegiance to Mark Robinson's extreme and dangerous record of trying to ban abortion with no exceptions and opposing common-sense gun safety laws that keep law enforcement and communities safe.
Earlier this year, Everytown for Gun Safety Action Fund and Victory Fund announced a $45 million major electoral program, which included launching a new grassroots voter contact program to help elect gun sense candidates and defeat gun extremists up and down the ballot in key swing districts and states. These efforts focused on young voters on college campuses, voters of color, and suburban women in Arizona, California, Georgia, Michigan, Minnesota, Nevada, New York, North Carolina, Pennsylvania and Wisconsin. As part of the electoral program, Everytown hired and deployed 36 field organizers across the ten states.
