Syracuse Mayor Ben Walsh announced a fiber installation project to begin Monday, October 27, on West Onondaga Street. This project is part of the City's ongoing efforts to expand high-speed internet access and help bring faster, more reliable service to local neighborhoods. This will include excavation of a portion of the street to install underground conduit and fiber optic cable on West Onondaga Street at the intersection of West Onondaga, Clinton and Gifford Streets. The road will be reduced to one lane during construction from 6 a.m. to 6 p.m., and sidewalks will remain open. Drivers may experience delays and are advised to use alternate routes if possible. The project is expected to be completed in two weeks; actual project timeframe is contingent on favorable weather.
