Cherokee Nation to host launch party for new Cherokee Language Dictionary App

TAHLEQUAH, Okla. - The Cherokee Nation will host a launch party to celebrate the new Cherokee Language Dictionary App created in partnership through the Cherokee Nation and Kiwa Digital Ltd.

Team members from Kiwa Digital Ltd. will join Cherokee Nation leaders and Cherokee speakers to celebrate the app. Kiwa Digital Ltd. specializes in language and dictionary app creation, with the intention of preserving Indigenous languages in mind.

Available on iPhone in the App Store and Android in the Google Play Store, the Cherokee Language Dictionary App includes translations of 6,000 Cherokee words with audio recordings, grammar notes, phonetics and syllabary, as well as biographical information on Cherokee first-language speakers.
