Assemblymember Connolly Passes Nine Bills to the Senate Floor

2026 legislative package passes out of the Senate Appropriations Committee to the Senate Floor.

SACRAMENTO, CA - On August 13th, both houses in the California State Legislature convened for their Appropriations Committee bill hearings. This committee measures legislation on their fiscal viability within our current state budget. Assemblymember Connolly successfully passed nine bills out of Senate Appropriations Committee to the Senate Floor.

These bills include:

1.AB 540: This bill clarifies and reforms civil procedure to make civil courts more efficient.
2.AB 1711: This bill will ensure that revenue generated from fairgrounds is reinvested in a timely manner for maintenance and emergency infrastructure.
3.AB 1891: This bill will support conservation goals by expanding funding for beneficial fire projects.
4.AB 2045: This bill extends the Habitat Restoration and Enhancement Act, which streamlines important restoration projects.
5.AB 2157: This bill makes the Displaced Oil and Gas Workers Fund permanent, ensuring workers affected by refinery closures have access to training that prepares them for jobs outside of the oil and gas sector.
6.AB 2227: This bill will ensure domestic farmworkers are adequately protected against wage theft.
7.AB 2577: This bill will require courts to make sure Proposition 65 settlements are utilized correctly by requiring companies to add warning labels or enact measures that reduce exposure to harmful chemicals.
8.AB 2618: This bill will put a two-year prohibition on California Public Utility Commissioners from leaving to work as lobbyists for utility companies after their term ends.
9.AB 2777: This bill will provide additional flexibility for the State Water Resources Control Board to modernize the Clean Water State Revolving Fund program.


These bills will now be heard on the Senate Floor.
