ATLANTA, GA - Applications for Georgia's Hurricane Helene Block Grant Program opened today, March 16, 2026, and will remain open for a period of 6 weeks, closing at midnight on April 27, 2026. Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper is encouraging eligible producers to begin the application as soon as possible to ensure timely submission.
"Today marks a significant milestone in our state's recovery from Hurricane Helene, and I am grateful that this essential relief will soon be heading to Georgia farm families who need it." said Georgia Agriculture Commissioner Tyler J Harper. "While this funding will not make farmers 100% whole, it will provide critical support to help Georgia farm families recover and rebuild, and I encourage all eligible producers to apply as soon as possible."
The program provides financial assistance to producers who meet eligibility requirements and who suffered losses due to Hurricane Helene in commodities and operations, including timber, infrastructure, poultry, beef cattle, dairy cattle, milk loss, dairy feed loss, pecans, blueberries, citrus, nursery, plasticulture, and bare-ground practices. Applications, eligibility requirements, guidance documents, and additional program details are available at https://www.farmrecovery.com.
