What to know about Season 1
Invincible fighting Omni-Man
Mark thinks he's just a normal teenager from Earth. That is, until he begins to develop powers thanks to his father, who is a Viltrumite from the planet Viltrum.
Mark becomes the superhero named Invincible with help from his father. But as the tutelage continues, Mark eventually learns that Omni-Man is more villainous than heroic, culminating in an epic battle between father and son.
Other notable characters this season include his love interest, Amber (Beetz), classmate and friend Samantha "Atom Eve" Wilkins (Jacobs), a telepathic alien named Allen the Alien (Seth Rogan), a multiplying superhero named Dupli-Kate (Melise), Cecil Steadman (Goggins), the enigmatic director of the Global Defense Agency, and the Guardians of the Globe, a group of superhumans that protect Earth.
What to know about Season 2
Mark tries, and fails, to juggle his personal life and his life as a burgeoning superhero.
Season 2 picks up about a month after the Season 1 finale. Mark tries, and fails, to juggle his personal life with Amber and his life as a burgeoning superhero after the events from his battle with his father. Mark reunites with Omni-Man on the planet Thraxa and meets his Viltrumite-Thraxan younger half brother Oliver, whom he takes back home to Earth.
This season also marks the debut of the villainous and maniacal Angstrom Levy (Sterling K. Brown) and Anissa (Shantel VanSanten), the threatening Viltrumite warrior. A bigger, stronger, and more resilient Allen the Alien returns in Season 2 and attempts to recruit Mark for the Coalition of Planets.
Mark explains that his relationships with his mother and Oliver, and graduating from high school, come first. But, to help out, Mark gives Allen books Omni-Man wrote about the Viltrumites that can help the Coalition win the war. Allen later allows Anissa to capture him so he can infiltrate the Viltrumites from within.
Prime Video's 'God of War' series is based on PlayStation's hit video game.
What to know about Season 3
Steven Yeun (Invincible), Jeffrey Dean Morgan (Conquest)
Season 3 follows Mark and Cecil as their philosophies clash in fundamental ways. The consequences of Mark's actions is also a major plot point, as he questions if he can be himself and a superhero, too. Such introspection intensifies when Mark and his superhero friends have to defeat 18 multiversal variants of Invincible deployed by the villain Angstrom. Rex Splode (Jason Matzoukas) sacrifices his life to defeat one of the evil Invincibles.
The victory over the variants, and the chance to recover and mourn, is short-lived because Conquest (Jeffrey Dean Morgan), a violence-loving Viltrumite, shows up to pummel Mark to a bloody pulp. With help from Eve, Mark takes down Conquest and ends up in a monthlong coma.
A blossoming romance also emerges between Eve and Mark.
Noteworthy characters in Season 3 include the energy-absorbing villain Powerplex (Aaron Paul), an older Oliver Grayson (Christian Convery), a budding superhero within his own right, and Dupli-Kate's twin brother, Multi-Paul (Simu Liu).
Perhaps this intelligent character development and storytelling is what made Season 3 of InvinciblePrime Video's most watched animation season of all time, marking the biggest returning season of all time across all Prime Video's Adult Animation Originals.
Season 3 was also nominated for the 2025 Critics' Choice Award for Best Animated Series, and also scored Primetime Emmy Award nominations in 2024 and 2025.
What is Season 4 of 'Invincible' about?
In Season 4, Mark and his fellow heroes face unprecedented chaos as they confront formidable new adversaries, including Thragg (Lee Pace), Dinosaurus (Matthew Rhys), and Universa (Danai Gurira).
As humanity rebuilds from the disaster depicted in Season 3, a transformed Mark must defend his world and loved ones, leading him toward an inevitable confrontation with a menace that threatens to reshape humanity's destiny. This season escalates both the dangers and the stakes, forcing Invincible, Atom Eve, and the Guardians of the Globe into a fight to preserve the planet.
Making matters more complicated, Omni-Man returns to Earth to help out. But can Mark trust him?
