President Donald Trump has spoken numerous times about his imperialist agenda of owning Greenland and Panama while controlling the Gaza Strip. The Reform Party stands firmly against territorial acquisition as a means for growth, and stands firmly on the side of peace. We believe that Trump's imperial ambitions are not congruent with the political philosophy of the Reform Party. We stand firmly against them.
On the topic of Gaza, the Reform Party would like to point out the attempts to nation build in Afghanistan and Iraq. After spending trillions of dollars on these attempts, the United States walked away with casualties, damaged international reputation and a fiscal deficit. Both of these attempts created more issues in the region, including the rise of ISIS. The Reform Party stands firmly against the military occupation of Gaza.
Panama and Greenland (Denmark) are close allies of the United States. Both nations exist on major trade routes. The United States can enjoy security and profit from international trade through these routes without occupation. The Reform Party supports working with these allies through development deals and stands firmly against annexation.
The United States has already had an imperial period through the late 1800s until World War 2. This imperial period drew us into numerous wars and cost thousands of American lives. If we look at the occupation of the Philippines after the Spanish American War, we can see the results of occupying a people's native land. This results in a guerilla war against us, which is expensive in American lives and American dollars. We stand to gain more through trade and respect. The Reform Party supports mutually beneficial trade with our partners.
