ICE arrests 24 illegal aliens during 1-day targeted operation with federal, state and local partners in Texas

CORPUS CHRISTI, Texas - ICE, in partnership with federal, state and local law enforcement officials, arrested 24 illegal aliens during a one-day targeted operation in Corpus Christi on May 13. The operation exemplifies the law enforcement community's commitment to a unified mission of keeping the American people safe by identifying, arresting and removing illegal aliens.

Among those arrested were criminal illegal aliens with convictions for theft, assault and driving while intoxicated and arrests for possession of a controlled substance, criminal trespass and illegal reentry into the U.S. These illegal aliens could face additional criminal charges for illegal reentry into the United States. Under Secretary Mullin, ICE law enforcement is focused on delivering the resident's mandate to the American people to remove criminal illegal aliens from American communities.

"The outcomes of this operation speak for themselves and are a testament to the outstanding teamwork, professionalism and determination displayed by everyone involved," said ICE Harlingen acting Field Office Director Matthew Ochoa. "The joint effort between our partners was instrumental to our success, and I am grateful for the commitment and effort everyone contributed."

Some of the criminals arrested include:

  • Divya Rana-Maheshbhai, of India, has been convicted of theft.
  • Denis Salinas Lara, of Honduras, has been convicted of simple assault involving family violence and was previously removed from the United States.
  • Heriberto Hernandez-Suarez, of Mexico, has been convicted of driving while intoxicated.

ICE continues to conduct routine daily immigration enforcement around the country as part of the agency's effort to arrest criminal aliens and other immigration violators with no legal basis to remain in the United States.
