On February 10, Consul General Chen Li attended and delivered remarks at the Spring Festival celebration at the Empire State Building, and unveiled the Chinese New Year of Horse-themed window display.
Chen stated that the Spring Festival has served as an important bond uniting the Chinese people for thousands of years. It has also become a powerful cultural symbol that bridges different civilizations and peoples. The debut of the Year of the Horse zodiac display at the Empire State Building allows this iconic modern landmark and traditional Chinese culture to shine together brilliantly, creating a vivid scene of cultural fusion and enhanced people-to-people connectivity.
"In the coming year, we look forward to more American friends discovering a diverse China in cyberspace, experiencing an authentic China through more in-person journeys, and embracing a vibrant China through closer cooperation. Together, we can foster a steady, forward-moving China-U.S. relationship grounded in equality, respect, and mutual benefit, bringing greater stability and certainty to both nations and the world," Chen said.
Chen Li and Xu Zhentao, Deputy Director General of the Beijing Municipal Bureau of Culture and Tourism, jointly unveiled the Year of the Horse window exhibition. On Chinese New Year's Eve, the Empire State Building will again lit up in a resplendent "Chinese red", extending New Year greetings to people across the globe and celebrating the arrival of the Year of the Horse.
