E-Tagging: A Better Way to Track Your Catch in Idaho

For salmon and steelhead anglers looking to simplify their time on the water, e-tagging offers a convenient alternative to traditional paper tagging. Available through the Go Outdoors Idaho app, this digital option makes it easy to record salmon and steelhead harvests quickly and efficiently.

Instead of dealing with paper tags, anglers can log their catch directly on their phone-right when it happens. It's a process that helps keep your focus where it belongs: on fishing.

"E-tagging helps us manage fisheries with greater precision," says Regional Fisheries Biologist, Don Whitney. "Accurate reporting from anglers plays a key role in sustaining these fisheries. Every harvest reported digitally helps Fish and Game track harvest data quickly to make informed management decisions."
