Public Notice: Proposed Data Center Update
LAKELAND, FL (May 30, 2026) - The proposal for a data center in Lakeland is not on the upcoming agenda and will not be discussed at the June 1 City Commission meeting. As with any development project, this proposal is undergoing an initial concept review. A submission of an application initiates a first step in the review process and does not constitute approval or denial of a project. This application must move through the City's normal staff-level review process on June 3 from multiple City departments, including Community and Economic Development, Public Works, Lakeland Electric, Water Utilities, Parks, Recreation and Cultural Arts, and Fire Prevention. As the review process moves forward, the public will be encouraged to attend and participate in future public hearings to provide community input. We are several months away from those steps, as it is too early to determine if the project advances to future stages of the process.
For information about current agenda items that will be discussed at the upcoming meeting, please review the City of Lakeland Commission Meeting Agenda at https://bit.ly/4wYJN1P.
