UC San Diego Community to Come Together for Triton Giving Day on April 29

Each year, Triton Giving Day brings the UC San Diego community together in a shared effort to support one another and the programs that shape our world-class education, campus life, drive impactful research and expand opportunity. The UC San Diego community is once again invited to take part in the campus' 8th annual 24-hour online fundraising event, which will take place on Wednesday, April 29, 2026.

As UC San Diego continues to navigate an evolving funding landscape, flexible support remains more critical than ever. This year's theme, "Unlocking Possibility Together," reflects the shared commitment to expand support for students, research and initiatives across UC San Diego.

For many students, having access to timely resources can make the difference between staying on track or falling behind. Gifts to The Hub - Basic Needs Initiatives and the Undergraduate Emergency Support Fund help bridge those gaps by providing assistance with food, housing and emergency financial relief, allowing students to continue their education with greater stability.

UC San Diego's Greatest Needs Fund also provides flexible, timely resources at the institutional level, allowing the university to respond to emerging priorities and direct resources where they are needed most. The Triton Research Fund provides resources to fund critical research that will translate into discoveries that benefit people around the world.

Beyond these areas of support, Triton Giving Day features more than 200 funds in a wide range of areas, giving donors the opportunity to support the causes that are most meaningful to them, whether a college, academic program, student organization or campus initiative. Many choose to give to multiple areas, extending their impact beyond a single focus.

This year, the Alumni Inspiration Challenge has been established as part of Triton Giving Day. Thanks to a generous group of Tritons, $75,000 in support will be unlocked when 900 alumni make a gift to any fund. Each contribution reflects an ongoing connection to the university and support for future generations of Tritons. If you are a proud Triton alum and donor, ensure your gift counts toward the goal by selecting "Alumni" as your affinity during checkout.
