Free Evening “Imkan” Remedial Program for Government...

His Excellency Dr. Mohammed bin Mubarak Juma, Minister of Education, announced the launch of the free evening remedial program "Imkan," to be delivered remotely starting tomorrow, Tuesday, April 14, 2026. The initiative is part of ongoing efforts to prepare Grade 9, secondary, and technical and vocational education students in government schools for their final examinations of the second academic term, while also strengthening their understanding of core academic subjects.

His Excellency explained that the program this semester will offer 41 subjects, delivered through a total of 82 centralized virtual sessions via the Ministry's electronic platform on Microsoft Teams. The sessions will be led by a distinguished group of male and female teachers, with three educators present in each session: a lead teacher, a supporting teacher, and a teacher dedicated to answering students' questions-ensuring a high-quality learning experience.

He added that the sessions for secondary-level students will cover Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Arabic, English, Financial Mathematics, Office Management, and Accounting. Meanwhile, Grade 9 students will receive instruction in Mathematics, Science, Arabic, and English.

His Excellency noted that participation in these sessions is optional and not mandatory. Students can access the lessons through links sent according to scheduled timetables specifying session times, subjects, and targeted grade levels. The sessions are designed to reinforce core concepts and develop students' skills, with opportunities for direct interaction through chat features to ask questions and seek clarification.

The Minister affirmed that the Ministry continues to advance technology-driven academic support initiatives, contributing to a flexible and supportive learning environment that enhances students' readiness for final examinations. He also highlighted the importance of benefiting from these sessions to consolidate knowledge and address areas for improvement, alongside ongoing evaluation of the program to further develop and expand it in the future.

The implementation of the "Imkan" program this year reflects the Ministry's continued commitment to supporting students' academic achievement and providing supplementary learning opportunities.
