Hawkins issues statement on possible beef imports

October 20, 2025

Missouri Farm Bureau President Garrett Hawkins released the following statement on President Trump's plans to increase beef imports from Argentina.

"Our farmers and ranchers produce the highest-quality beef in the world. Missouri Farm Bureau is concerned about recent comments regarding increased foreign imports of beef. We believe that this action will disrupt the cattle industry, when producers are making critical decisions about rebuilding the herd, putting the viability of industry at stake. We look forward to continued conversations on how we can prioritize the success of America's farmers and ranchers."
