White Sands to Offer Program Highlighting Artistic Perspectives on the Dunefield

ALAMOGORDO, N.M. - White Sands National Park and park partner Western National Parks will host a special presentation on Sunday May 31, 2026, at 1 pm, in the visitor center theater. Author and photographer Craig Varjabedian will share observations from his time photographing White Sands National Park and discuss his experiences exploring the park's dunefield.

Craig Varjabedian is an award-winning photographer based in Santa Fe, NM. His experience photography, writing, publishing, lecturing and teaching for over thirty years. Craig has photographed White Sands National Park for many years, documenting the landscape during his visits.

Programs such as this provide visitors an opportunity to explore how different people experience and interpret the natural environment protected at White Sands National Park. The presentation is free and first-come-first served as the seating capacity in the visitor center theater is limited.
