Whitehouse Statement on Resolution of Brown University Shooting Investigation

Providence, RI - U.S. Senator Sheldon Whitehouse (D-RI) this evening released the following statement regarding the resolution of the Brown University shooting investigation:

"It's been a long, difficult week in Providence. Nothing will bring back the two students who should be home enjoying their holiday break. I hope tonight's events allow their families and the injured victims to begin to heal.

"I want to again thank our state's first responders for the massive incident response last weekend. We owe a significant debt of gratitude to the local, state, and federal law enforcement officers who worked as a team around the clock to find the perpetrator and bring closure to the Brown University community. I want to express particular appreciation for Attorney General Neronha who has been a steady voice through a challenging time. This was a complex investigation and unlike anything Rhode Island has dealt with before, and law enforcement got it done."
