Press Release: County Road 524 to close indefinitely due to failing culvert
La Plata County Road 524, which connects County Roads 521 and 523 south and east of Bayfield, will be closed beginning at 10 a.m., Friday, Jan. 16. The closure is due to a failing culvert that is causing safety concerns. The Road & Bridge Department will replace the culvert when materials arrive, but the closure expected to continue at least through the end of February. Non-local traffic can use County Roads 521, 522 and 523 as alternate routes during the closure.
